Who wrote Hopper?

Inside Google's Artemis release, a startup's open-source agent, and the commit history that replaced three names.

TLDR

On 13 August 2026 Google published Artemis under Apache-2.0. Public git objects still show an earlier pyproject.toml that listed Pierre-Louis Favreau, Jean-Pierre Lo, and Nicolas Dehandschoewercker — the authors on Minitap's mobile-use v3.6.3 — under a Google LLC copyright line, at version 3.6.3. A later object replaced them with somew1nd and wfq559@outlook.com. The Hopper agent prompt matches on both projects from the heading through the package-lookup rules. About nine and a half hours after Minitap filed issue #40, somew1nd pushed an Apache-2.0 header repair. Google has not answered the issue. The Frontier has not received an on-record Google statement.
